The New York Giants’ offensive line got closer to being a little healthier this afternoon when right tackle Evan Neal cleared the concussion protocol.
#NYGiants RT Evan Neal has officially cleared concussion protocol, per sources. He visited with an independent doctor this afternoon following practice and received 👍.
Neal practiced without a noncontact jersey today, which is the final step of the protocol.— Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) August 16, 2023
Neal has been out since sustaining a concussion during practice on August 4th. Head coach Brian Daboll said earlier in the day that Neal was ‘trending in the right direction’ and indeed he was as he was out on the field in a red non-contact jersey.
Whether or not Neal participates in Friday’s preseason game at home against the Carolina Panthers remains to be seen.
