New York Giants fans have always been considered to be among the most knowledgeable in the NFL After all, their team has been around for a century and there is a rich, illustrious history for fans to embrace.

Fans in the New York Metropolitan Area have always been ardent wagerers on sporting events over the years and with the NFL and other major sports leagues now fully on board with the legal betting landscape, fans are more involved than ever.

So, which NFL fans are the biggest wagerers? In a recent poll by EmpireStakes.com, Giant fans came out on top — by a lot.

EmpireStakes.com – your source for NY sportsbook promos – utilized Statista’s 2022 “Attitudes Toward Sports Betting” survey of NFL fans with 1,020 respondents to find who currently are the NFL fanbases who claim to be a “sports betting user.” (Note that this is just a sample size of NFL fans who claimed to be a fan of a specific NFL team. The percentage represents how many people are sports bettors out of the sample).

Top fanbases for NFL betting interest:

  1. New York Giants 13%
  2. Buffalo Bills 11%
  3. Arizona Cardinals 8%
  4. Chicago Bears 6%
  5. Dallas Cowboys 6%
  6. Carolina Panthers 5%
  7. NY Jets 5%
  8. Atlanta Falcons 5%

The article goes on to say the three ‘New York’ teams are featured prominently on the list since “New York sports betting apps recently became legalized (January 2022) and fans can wager on their favorite team in the NFL right from their phones. It also doesn’t hurt that both the Giants and the Bills made the postseason last year, which certainly increases the amount of enthusiasm for potential bettors… The Jets came in at No. 6 as 5% of Jets fans said that they were betting on sports. That is a bit lower than the other two teams from New York and it could be because their team has just had less success over the last few years.”

The percentage of fans who will bet is expected to grow with each passing year as wagering spreads to more states.
